Inside the design of the Saratoga Coat

The Saratoga Coat has been an idea living in my sketchbook for a long time, waiting for the right moment to come to life.

It started with my love for the comfort and ease of a swing coat silhouette, but I knew I wanted to sharpen it just enough to feel intentional and modern. I refined the lines, added a statement back pleat for movement, and finished it with raglan sleeves to keep the shape relaxed while still feeling balanced.

When I’m designing, I’m always thinking about how a piece will last—not just in quality, but in how it fits into someone’s life. I ask myself how it will be worn, what it will be paired with, and whether it will still feel relevant years down the line. I want pieces that don’t feel limiting, that can be styled over and over without getting tired. That’s why classic colors felt essential for the Saratoga Coat—they give the design room to evolve with the wearer.

We took our time with every part of this coat. From sourcing materials to refining the fit, nothing was rushed. Each seam was revisited until it felt just right, and the details were chosen with care. Natural corozo buttons from Courtney & Co and a subtle leather accent from Steadfast Leather add quiet character—elements you might not notice at first glance, but that make the coat feel special the longer you wear it.

Every decision was intentional. Every stitch was considered.

The result is a coat that makes a statement without trying too hard. It’s timeless, easy to wear, and designed to hold its place in your wardrobe for years to come—reliable, distinctive, and endlessly versatile. The Saratoga Coat is meant to be worn often, styled your own way, and lived in season after season.

This coat means a lot to me. It represents patience, intention, and the belief that good design doesn’t need to shout to be noticed. My hope is that the Saratoga Coat becomes a piece you reach for again and again—something that feels like yours the moment you put it on, and even more so with every wear.
